windowcleaner

window cleaner

wipe away days

window cleaner

wipe away days

there are times when i get these feelings

when i feel like i shouldn’t be leaning

falling in through glass doors

reflected in polished floors

window cleaner

wipe away days

i remember how i felt those mornings

how the birds and the trees were calling

a lush green slowly walking the highway

the breeze blowing tunes into my head

window cleaner

wipe away days

sometimes the world can be such a nice place

every day finds me smiling to myself

don’t ever put me in those high rises

i don’t want to know corporate houses

i will sing with the breeze and get high with the trees

and i think i know peace as i wipe away

wipe away

while all those tied up people type away

type away

i want to jump into a water tank

i want to lie down by the shore of the sea

like the water buffalo on river banks

the world is reaching out to me

window cleaner

wipe away days

never wanted to be on the inside

not knowing the night from the day

central ac and executive lunches

have never been my cup of tea

perhaps i have never known any better

than to burn and to weep with the weather

i have had my own world to rejoice in

like to think it’s by choice that i’ve been

a window cleaner

in those wiped away days

a window cleaner

just the lanes and byways

window cleaner

wipe away days

window cleaner

swiped away in the haze
